  21. 1. Intro *startify-intro*
  22. Startify is a zero-conf plugin which shows recently used files and sessions
  23. that were saved to a certain directory.
  24. ==============================================================================
  25. 2. Usage *startify-usage*
  26. Startify basically provides two things:
  27. 1) If you start Vim without giving any filenames to it (or pipe stuff to it so
  28. it reads from STDIN), startify will show a small but pretty start screen
  29. which shows recently used files (using viminfo) and sessions by default.
  30. Additionally, you can define bookmarks, thus entries for files that always
  31. should be available in the start screen.
  32. You can either navigate to a certain menu entry or you just key in whatever
  33. is written between the square brackets on that line.
  34. 2) It eases handling of loading and saving sessions by only working with a
  35. certain directory. Two commands are used for convenience:
  36. :SLoad load a session
  37. :SSave save a session
  38. The default settings are pretty sane, so it should work without any
  39. configuration.
  40. ==============================================================================
  41. 3. Options *startify-options*
  42. Put these variables into your vimrc. The shown assignments are also the
  43. default values.
  44. ============-
  45. let g:startify_session_dir = '~/.vim/session'
  46. The directory to save/load sessions to/from.
  47. ============-
  48. let g:startify_show_sessions = 1
  49. List saved sessions in g:startify_session_dir.
  50. ============-
  51. let g:startify_show_files = 1
  52. List recently used files using viminfo.
  53. ============-
  54. let g:startify_show_files_number = 10
  55. The amount of files to list.
  56. ============-
  57. let g:startify_bookmarks = [ '~/.vimrc' ]
  58. A list of files to bookmark. Those files will always be shown at the bottom of
  59. the start screen.
  60. ==============================================================================
  61. 4. Commands *startify-commands*
  62. There are only two commands for handling sessions:
  63. :SLoad load a session
  64. :SSave save a session
  65. These take either 0 or 1 argument. If you don't specify the session name as an
  66. argument, they will just ask for it.
